MiscReviews is now hosted on WordPress.com
Alright friends, it’s been a while. Granted, it’s almost always been a while, but this may be a record of some kind. I’m not one who usually likes to air his troubles, even when I’m essentially screaming into the void, but I’ll go so far as to say I’ve been having a rough go of it lately, and really just not in the best mindset for much of anything, let alone forcing myself to sit down and write. It’s a shame, considering this site was initially supposed to be a place where I could better express myself, but it’s basically become just another source of stress. I’m hoping that improves, though I can’t say what’s going to change for that to be the case, but we’re going to give it a shot.
I know that one goal is going to be to try to get more content from outside contributors, but we’ll talk more about that in a later post. Part of what’s become such a roadblock for me writing is feeling like I HAVE to be writing reviews about the latest and greatest things, when I can only keep up with so much, and my interests have grown somewhat narrow. I’d like to get more perspective and more expertise here on the site, which will also give me more freedom to write more pieces outside the realm of just what I thought about something I just watched or played.
My other primary goal remains what it was from the start, and that’s that I would like to grow an actual community. I would love to see engagement in posts, recommendations for what readers would like to see discussed, and for this site to develop into a place where readers feel they can be a part of the content, and that we can provide unique perspectives about not just big and mainstream entertainment, but a true miscellaneous collection of content and writings about a wide array of games, movies, shows, music, and whatever else we feel is worth discussing.
I do hope those of you who are reading can relate to what I’m hoping to accomplish here, and will consider following and sharing our posts to help spread the word and build our community.
